Quash was in his new ship in the middle of the desert on a bright and sunny day. It was a good thing that this ship had air conditioning because dealing with this heat would've been one real pain in the ass. He was currently getting ready to test out his brand new Gravitron. This device had artificial gravity, which allowed him to train under greater weight and increase the quality of his training! This was exactly the type of thing he needed to get to where he needed to be! If he was going to catch up to those ahead of him, this was what that meant. Quash was ready for the challenge, bring it on world!
The room looked pretty great. There was a lot of space. Plenty of room for flying and martial arts movement. Hell, he could probably fit a couple of other people in here! At the side of the room, there was a control console that turned on the added gravity. He walked over to it to get a look. There were various settings, all the way to 75x! As much as he wanted to throw himself into the maximum, he knew better. There was no point in training if you were doing more harm to your body than good. Quash decided to start small and work his way up.
There was a big red button for the on and off switch, which was pretty convenient, to be honest. The dial was currently set to the lowest setting: 10x Gravity. He pushed the button, and he started hearing what was the faint sound of the room's systems running. He felt an additional weight on him, but to be honest it was pretty light. Quash wanted to be cautious but not THAT cautious. He could do better than that! Examining the dial again, he started to turn it up.
20x Gravity. He felt heavier for sure, but it still felt too easy. Give it a day or two and this would probably feel like nothing to him. Maybe a little higher... 30x Gravity? Alright, a little too light but definitely in the right direction. He could feel himself trying harder to simply stand up. Quash started moving his arm up and down, trying to get a feel for it. It was tougher but still too easy. Maybe one more dial...
40x Gravity! YEP! THAT WAS THE ONE! Holy macaroni this is heavy! This'll do for sure! I just need to get a little used to it-! Quash stepped away from the controls, satisfied at this level. He started marching, albeit at a slower pace than what he was used to, around the room. This reminded him a lot about what it was like trying training weights for the first time. This was new, but also really cool! Whoever built this was doing him, and probably a lot of fighters a lot of favors.
Man, so this is what I've been missing out on? No wonder there's so many stronger people now!
